Wilton Lee Rye, age 87 of Erin, TN, passed away Friday, March 22, 2019 at his residence.
A celebration of his life will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2019 at the chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Bro. Glenn Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in Rye Cemetery.
The Rye family will receive friends on Sunday at Nave Funeral Home from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service Monday afternoon at the funeral home.
Wilton entered this life on December 17, 1931 in Erin, TN, son to the late George and Mamie Rye. Wilton was a member of Cedar Valley United Methodist Church, and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Upon retirement, Wilton worked as a carpenter at TVA.
In addition to his parents, Wilton was preceded in death by his wife Viola Mae Rye sons, Keith Simmons,Anthony Rye, brother Richard Rye and sister Audrey Naylor.
Survivors include his loving daughters, Christy Worden, Diana Rye Hanvy, Karen Rye Nichols; son, Ralph Simmons; sisters, Mildred Clark, and Maxine Shelton. Wilton also leaves behind six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and his special companion, Doris June Tomlinson.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Rye, Mitchell Kern, Rusty Bevel, Alex Hanvy, Eddie Rye, Danny Rye, G.E. Clark, and Nathan Stringfield.
