Willie Clayton Rye, age 88, passed away Monday, January 14, 2013 at his home in Palmyra while surrounded by his loving family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Chester officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Willie entered this life in Cunningham, Tennessee on May 26, 1924 to George and Eva Rye. He was a U.S. Army veteran and had worked as a farmer and retired from the Trane Company.
Willie leaves behind his wife, Julia Dycus Rye of Palmyra, his daughters, Martha Rye Armistead, Vickie Rye Stone, son by marriage, Fred Lindsey, grandchildren, Jamie Tripp, Matt Stone, Jason Hodges, and Adam Stone, and four great grandchildren.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
