William Delma Turner, age 85 of Clarksville, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2015 at his son's residence. A Celebration of Life will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home, with Bro. John Tyler Ross officiating. Burial will follow at Dunbar Chapel Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. William was born on August 20, 1929 in Stewart County, TN, son of the late Samuel Turner and Ruby Halliday Turner. In addition to his parents, is preceded in death by his spouse, Florence Darnell and grandson Brandon Darnell. William served his country in the U.S. Army and was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He attained the rank of Captain before ending his military career. After 35 years, he retired as manager and agent from Kentucky Central Life. He is survived by his son, Rick (Tammy) Turner; daughters, Cathy Darnell and Linda Darnell; sisters, Frances (Sonny) Webb and Ruth Durham; granddaughters Natalie (Tommy) Rawlings-Watkins, Ashlie (Rob) Rawlings-Farmer and Lacey (John) Darnell-Gullett; nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Danny Webb, Jerry Durham, Ray McGuire, Keith Rossi, Michael Pegger and Reid Harrison. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Farmer, Cash Farmer, John Gullett, Samuel Gullett and Jack Gullett. Arrangements in the care of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home (931) 647-3371. -
