William Bryan Shrum, age 61, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018 at his home in Cumberland Furnace.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 noon Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Full Military Honors will be rendered. His family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.
Bryan entered into this life on November 6, 1956 in Alhambra, California to the late Lester and Mary Calcote Shrum. He was a proud member of the US Army, having served 20 years of distinguished service as a Huey and then as a Chinook helicopter mechanic. Additionally, he was a Desert Storm era veteran. Following his retirment, Bryan worked as a mechanic contractor for Boeing Sikorsky Aircraft for 10 years and then as an IT contractor for 13 years. Bryan enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Joanne Zickefoose Shrum; daughters, Nicole Shrum and Christine Adkins; grandchildren, Brittnye, Brandon, Anamarie, and Trevin; his sisters Elaine and Leslie; several nieces and nephews; and his best little four-legged friend, Buster Brown. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Bryan.
