William Gray

October 16, 1926 — January 4, 2018

William “Bill” Gray, 91, Clarksville, passed away Thursday, January 04, 2018 at his daughter’s residence.
A celebration of his life will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Madison Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Harriett Bryan Officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel and from 12 noon until the hour of service at the church.
Mr. Gray was born October 16, 1926 in Erin, TN and was preceded in death by his parents, John Curtis and Minnie Walker Gray; first wife, Patricia Linke Gray; and his brother, John Curtis Gray Jr.
He was a U.S. Army WWII Veteran, attended APSU, retired from BF Goodrich/Vulcan Corporation and a member of Madison Street United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Shelly Jenkins Gray; sons, Billy (Pam) Gray, Danny (Cherie) Gray; daughters, Jodi (Bill) Gray Mitchell, Suzanne Gray; grandchildren, Jasen Richardson, Michael Hyams, Nick Hyams, Ryne Gray, Kyle Gray and Billy Mitchell; daughters by marriage, Shelton (Steve) Durrett Meriwether, Mary Frances Durrett, Susan (Clark) Durrett Nicholson; grandchildren by marriage, Laura Nave Clouser, Martha Dawson Nicholson, Samuel Nicholson and five great-grandchildren.
Sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Willard Blue Sunday School Class, Dr. John Kinney, Fred Landis, Jim Clemmer, Bob Privett, Steve Meriwether, Clark Nicholson, Samuel Nicholson and Rob Collett.
