William Edgar Dillon I, 79, Clarksville, died Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at his residence. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 709 Franklin St. with Reverend Father Eric Fowlkes officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, with full military honors. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. till 7 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. till 10:30 a.m. Saturday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel. A Masonic Service will be held 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. He was born March 23, 1931 in Indianapolis, IN, and was the son of the late Verneda Louise (Cummings) and Joseph Wallace Dillon. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Helen Hannah Dillon. Mr. Dillon was a retired Chief Warrant Officer with the US Army. He served in Korea with the 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team, and was an Army Aviator in Vietnam. He was a member of the Masonic Order, a 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner. He served as Past Master of Masons in Germany, and was a Past Grand Master of Ceremonies with the Grand Lodge of Rhode Island. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 3537 and Fr. William E. Morgan Assembly No 2328, both of Clarskville. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Nellie Lorraine Bright Dillon; daughter, Denise Doreen Dillon (Ray) Cunningham, Clarksville; sons, William Edgar (Sarah) Dillon II, Goodlettsville, Kurt Allen (Tracie) Dillon, West Melbourne, FL; grandsons, Jonathan Kyle (Kelli) Cunningham and William Edgar (Cassie Jones) Dillon III, Atsushi (Yuki) Imamura; granddaughters, Jennifer Anne (Camron) Ayers, Christine Nicole Dillon Rogers, Casey Dawn Dillon (Ryan) Fisher, Kristen Leigh Dillon, Ashley Marie Dillon, Miharu James; great-grandsons, Caleb Logan Ayers, Corey Luke Ayers, Cyler Landon Ayers and Kaden Ray Cunningham, Bryson Jones and Tyler Jones; great-granddaughters, Lillianise Myrian Cunningham and Mckayla Cosimato. He is further survived by two sisters, Faith Joy (Dillon) Landis, Janice Louise (Dillon) Dooley, brothers, Larry Joe Dillon and Clifford Eugene Dillon, all of Indianapolis, IN.
