William D. "Bucky" Buckingham, 66, Clarksville, passed away Monday, December 26, 2011 at Gateway Medical Center.
A celebration of his life will be 2 p.m., Sunday, January 1, 2012 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Pastor William Luffman officiating. Burial will be in Gum Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Saturday and from 12 noon until the hour of service Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Buckingham was born April 23, 1945 in Paris, TN and was preceded in death by his parents, Rex Carnell and Clara Biter Buckingham.
He spent most of his life in Montgomery County and was a co-owner of Middle Tennessee Amusement Company. He was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose #1027 where he formerly served as Governor, Lodge Administrator as well as many other offices, and later attained his Pilgrim Degree. He was also a member of Hopkinsville Elks #545 and Fraternal Order of Eagles in Hopkinsville. He attended Faith Outreach Church.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda L. Buckingham, Clarksville; son Gary L. Denney, Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Nicole and Devon Denney; sister, Barbara B. (Mike) Ward; thirteen nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and two loving pets, Taz and Peanut.
Pallbearers will be Rob Allen, Roger Holmes, June Bug Foor, Randy Young, Pat Ray, Michael Ward, Jody Galbreath, Steven Slate and Mike Kline. Honorary pallbearers will be Gordon Hawkins, John Wilkinson, Bill Alexander and Dale Dunn.
