William "Bill" Wheeler

William “Bill” Wheeler, 89 of Clarksville, TN went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 23, 2024.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2024, at McReynolds-Nave and Larson Funeral Home with Rev. BJ Brack officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens with Full Military Honors. The Wheeler family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2024, and again on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until the hour of the service at the Funeral Home.

Bill was born on February 9, 1935, in Barberton, Ohio. He retired from the United States Army after 21 years of service. After Bill’s retirement, he worked for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department for 10 years. He then went on to work for Civil Service at Ft. Campbell for another 10 plus years. He was a member of the Masons and New Providence United Methodist Church. Bill’s faith led him to serve his community; later in life he served as a supply pastor and a certified lay minister. In his free time Bill loved traveling, umpiring Northwest Little League baseball, and going on cruises with his family.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Wheeler; sons, William “Billy” Wheeler, and Frederick Wheeler; daughter, Victoria Marie Wheeler, granddaughter, Bobbi Jean Wheeler; great grandchild, Tyler Szlosek; one sister and three brothers.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Debra P. Christian (Tony Atkins); son, Timothy (Urania) Wheeler; grandchildren, Nicholas Wheeler, Angela Christian, Lisa (Christopher) Barrentine, Billy (Beverly) Wheeler, Tricia Wheeler; and eight great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Nicholas Wheeler, Billy Wheeler, Jabob Szlosek, Tony Atkins, Chuck Badcock, and Richard Mendez.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Encore Ministry/Foundation and Tennessee Western Kentucky Conference of UMC.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mana Café or Stop Soldier Suicide.
