William Allen `Butch` Bates, 52, Paris, TN, formerly of Clarksville, died Sunday, February 28, 2010, at Henry County Medical Center, Paris, TN. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Bro. Charles Martin officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home. The remains are to be cremated. He was born November 26, 1957 in Dickson and was preceded in death by his parents, Morley Robert and Bertha Ann Smith Bates. Butch was disabled in a 1982 Automobile Accident, he can now walk again as he enters into the gates of Heaven into his eternal home. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and formerly employed by Mar-Kel Lighting of Paris, and a member of Fellowship United Methodist Church. Survivors include his brother, Richard "Rick" Wayne Bates, Clarksville; sister, Ruth Ann Bates (Gary) Willoughby, Paris; grandmother, Hester Smith; nephews, William R. Baynes, Cody Wayne Bates, Dakota Bates; nieces, Karen Nicole Bates, Brandi McClure; great-niece, Natalie A. Baynes; great-nephews, Dylan T. Baynes, Brandon G. Dunlap; uncles, Clyde (Helen) Smith; aunts, Sue Lambert, Peggy (Dallas) Runner, Betty (Bill) Baker.
