William “Bill” Edward Akins, 84 of Cunningham, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Skyline Medical Center.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Akins officiating. Burial will follow at Lone Oak Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Friday and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday.
Bill was born on November 24, 1930 in Louisville, KY, son of the late William Burke Akins and Delma Mae Akins. He is preceded in death by son, Eddie “Dubby” Akins; grandson, Matt McCurdy; and brother, Allen Akins.
He was a loving husband and father and was a devoted Music Leader at Christ Fellowship Church.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ruth Williams Akins; children, Gary (Raini) Akins, Pam (Johnnie) Knight, and Mike (Lisa) Akins; grandchildren, Tammy & Monte Sanchez, Mollie & Roy Young, Christi & Ralph Holt, Ashley Turner, Amber Akins, Dane & Tina Smith, Brandon "Butch" & Megan McCurdy, and Dalton Akins; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Sanchez, Michael Dillon Sanchez, Garrett Holt, Palyn Holt, Rachel Fitzpatrick, Tyler Fitzpatrick, Mallory McCurdy, Morgan McCurdy, Grace McCurdy, and Audrey McCurdy; brother, Steve Akins; sisters, Betty Russell, Margie Hayes, and Norma Hayes.
Pallbearers will be Dalton Akins, Garrett Holt, Michael Dillon Sanchez, Johnnie Knight, Rex Williams, and Tommy Williams.
