Willard C. Oliver, 83, Clarksville, died Sunday, September 25, 2011.
A celebration of his life will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, September 29, 2011 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. George Adair officiating. Burial will be in Nanney-Hollis Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Oliver was born August 6, 1928 in Holloway, OH and was the son of the late Charles Ray and Donnie Ellen Oliver and was also preceded in death by five brothers, Edward, Tom, George, Dave and Bill Oliver.
He retired from civil service at Fort Campbell and later from Sears Automotive. When he was 16 years old he got his first job with the B&O Railroad; this gave him his love of trains. He also enjoyed fishing and drag racing. He was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran and a member of Waltons Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of over 61 years, Maggie Lee Hollis Oliver; son, Ed (Melissa) Oliver; daughter, Julie Ann (Wilbur) Berry; grandsons, Craig "Yogi" (Carolyn) Peters, Mason Oliver and Rip Oliver.
