Wilfred Cline

May 17, 1923 — March 19, 2008

Wilfred R. Cline, 84, Clarksville, died Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at his home in Clarksville, TN. He was born May 17, 1923 in Lubec, the first child of Charles R. and Maude McDowell Cline. He married Lois Creath and together they had David and Christine Ann. After Lois's untimely death, he married Ruby Moores and together they had Sherrill Marie. The family lived most of their lives in Lubec and later moved to Woodland. It was his ill health that forced the migration to Tennessee and warmer weather. Wilfred was a carpenter, fisherman and loved the ocean and Maine. He and Ruby travelled to Holland, Germany, Paris and across the United States. He was a 55 year member of the Washington Masonic Lodge No. 37 of Lubec, something that gave him great pride. He is survived by Ruby, his wife of 56 years; son, David; daughters and special sons-in-law Sherrill and Allan Harriman and Christy and Charles Halsted; four grandchildren, several great grandchildren. He was especially close to grandson John Harriman with whom he shared many memorable experiences. John's sons Matthew and Lucas, new additions to the family, filled Wilfred's last months with great joy. His only granddaughter, Angela Olson Hart of Bangor, will forever cherish their tea parties. He is also survived by brothers Ronald of Washington, Edward of Calais, and sister Mary Coggins of Lubec, many nieces and nephews. The family is sincerely grateful for the loving care and concern given this past year by Gateway Hospice, Kyong Marshall, Helga King, Ajax-Turner Senior Center all of Clarksville and for those who sent cards and prayers our way. There will be a memorial service/interment in Lubec at a later date.
