Wanda Wheeler, age 87 of Clarksville, TN went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 19, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
A Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2023, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. BJ Brack officiating. Wanda will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
The Wheeler Family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2023 and from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service on Saturday.
Wanda was born on June 27, 1935, in Lawrenceville, IL, daughter of the late Carl and Pauline Gosnell.
Wanda was a selfless servant of the Lord. She was a member of New Providence United Methodist Church, where she served on numerous committees. Having a servant’s heart, she volunteered her time with the homeless, leading the warming shelters and room at the inn. She truly never met a stranger, and she loved making friendships.
Wanda enjoyed traveling with her husband Bill, going on cruises and sitting on the beach listening to the waves.
In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her sons, William “Billy” Wheeler, and Frederick Wheeler; daughter, Victoria Marie Wheeler, granddaughter, Bobbi Jean Wheeler; great grandchild, Tyler Szoleck and sister, Betty Gosnell.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 69 years, William “Bill” Wheeler; daughter, Debera P. Christian (Tony Atkins); son, Timothy (Urania) Wheeler; sister, Martha Jean Beaver; brother, Morris Gosnell; grandchildren, Nicholas Wheeler, Angela Christian, Lisa Barrentine, Billy Wheeler, Trisha Wheeler; and eight great grandchildren.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Encore Ministry/Foundation and Tennessee Western Kentucky Conference of UMC.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mana Café or Stop Soldier Suicide.
