Walter Ray Vick, 97, Indian Mound, died Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at his home with his familiy by his side. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Bro. John Maltais and Bro. Tony Chester officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home. He was born October 18, 1911 in Stewart County and was preceded in death by his parents, James Madison and Minnie Lee Elliot Vick; wife, Hazel Vick; daughter, Wanda Chester; great-grandson, Patrick Chester. Mr. Vick was a member of Sycamore Flat Church of Christ in Indian Mound. He always looked forward to having his family together in one place and making sure that they knew Jesus was what was most important to him. He was a retired machinist. Survivors include his grandsons, Tony (Delores), Timmy (Annette), and Terry (Linda) Chester; great-grandchildren, Anthony (Jennifer) Chester, Rebecca (Ben) Borris, Raymond Chester; great-great grandson, Cooper Ray Borris;, along with two step-great-grandchildren and three step great-great-grandchildren. Pallbeaers will be Raymond Chester, Anthony Chester, Ben Borris, Jeff Moore, Bo Palmore, John Cornejo and Jeff Bateman.
