Walter Robert Bland Sr., age 85 of Cumberland Furnace, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2015 at his residence.
There are no local services planned. Funeral services will be held at Harrell Funeral Home in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Walter was born January 1, 1930 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He was a U.S. Navy and Pearl Harbor Veteran and was of the Catholic faith. He also was a collector of fine antiques and a city bus driver.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Cruise Bland.
Walter leaves behind to cherish his memory, son, Walter Bland Jr. of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Angela M. (Banipal) Seperghan of Cumberland Furnace; 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren.
