Vivian Schaefer

Vivian Baggett Slate Schaefer, affectionately known as “Marie” age 77 of Cunningham passed away Monday, October 25, 2021 at Horizon Medical Center.

Celebration of Life will be held 12 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 2021, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Dr. Ted Denny officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 29, 2021 from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Marie entered this life on April 8, 1944 in Montgomery County to the late Cullie and Nora Hayes Baggett. She attended Hopewell Baptist Church and Bethel Baptist Church and enjoyed yard work and gardening. Marie loved her animals and being outdoors. She also found enjoyment in eating at restaurants and drinking margaritas.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Tina Marie Slate.

Survivors include her children, Timothy Slate, Charles (Maria) Schaefer, Jr., and Lisa (Will) Elliott; grandchildren, William Elliott, Melisa Elliott, Shawn Elliott, Nicholas Schaefer, and Allison Schaefer; great-grandchild, Malachi Elliott; sisters, Estelle Chappell and Betty Dowden, and Willoughby “Bea” Jackson.

Pallbearers will be Tim Slate, Charles Schaefer, William Eric Elliott, Will Elliott, Mark Baggett, Shawn Elliott, Nicholas Schaefer, and Glenn Jackson.
