Throughout her remarkable life, Josephine touched the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warmth and kindness were unmatched, and she left an indelible mark on the lives of her family and friends. Josephine was a devoted wife to James Robert Williams, Jr., with whom she shared a beautiful journey of love and companionship for over six decades. They married on June 11, 1949. Their marriage was built on a foundation of respect, trust, and unwavering support. Together, they faced life's challenges with grace and steadfastness. Virginia's dedication to their relationship serves as an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to witness their enduring love.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her sister, Lucille Smith and Ruth Rawlings.
As a mother, Josephine was unwavering in her devotion. Her three children, Danny (Debbie) Williams, Shane (Mary) Williams, and Cheryl (Jimmie) Hite, were the center of her world. Josephine's selflessness knew no bounds as she tirelessly supported her children throughout their lives. But Josephine's love extended far beyond just her immediate family. She cherished the role of grandmother with great joy and pride. Her grandchildren, David (Helen) Williams, Steven (Lauren) Williams, Jeremy (Megan) Hite, Ryan Hite, Travis (Ashton) Hite, Brianna Burress, Josiah Williams, Sarah Williams, Kaitlynn Williams, Amy (Todd) Crook, Karen (Jeff) McCoy were blessed to experience her unconditional love firsthand. Josephine delighted in showering them with affection and nurturing their talents. She leaves behind sixteen great-grandchildren who will forever carry memories of their loving great-grandmother in their hearts. We remember Josephine Williams as a pillar of strength, compassion, and love. Her legacy will continue to live on within the hearts of her beloved family and everyone she touched along her extraordinary journey. Memorial contributions may be made in Josephine’s memory to Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Robert Mills, 451 Fentress Road, Clarksville, TN 37040.
