Violet St. John, age 84, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at her home in Clarksville with her family at her side.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Bro. Brian Henley officiating. She will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery. Violet's family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and 12 noon until the hour of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Violet entered into this life on July 21, 1933 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter to Frank and Catherine Collins Lomas. For years, Violet worked in home health care and enjoyed sitting with folks, keeping them company and comfortable. She was a member of both the Eastern Star, Chapter #202 and Memorial Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Violet was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Ray R. St. John, Jr.; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Kenneth Posten; sister, Anna Newton; and a grandson, Robert St. John. Survivors include her children, Ray F. St. John (Donita), Richard St. John (Roberta), Linda St. John; and sisters, Catherine Douglas, Florence Mascino, and Louise Hrynko. Violet was the proud grandmother to twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Richard St. John, Michael Crittenden, Jr., Billy Dinsmore, and Chris Rader.and Tommy Hodnett.
