Vernon Schmidt

Vernon Almond Schmidt, age 78 of Erin, TN, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Skyline Medical Center.
A celebration of his life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 5, 2020 at the Chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Lowry Cemetery.
The Schmidt family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday afternoon.
Vernon entered this life on September 8, 1942 in Houston County, TN, son to the late Almond and Frances Schmidt. Vernon was a lifelong resident of Houston County and a faithful member of Mt Sinai Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Vernon was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Daphne Reason; brother, Austin Schmidt, and brother in laws Gene Powell and Jessie Self.
Survivors include his loving wife, Sheri Schmidt, son, David Schmidt; daughters, Rose (Lennie) Austin, Nora (Weldon) Coleman, Verna (Billy) Reason; sisters, Rachel (Bubba) Varden, Wanda Self, Dottie (Terry) Self and Rosie Powell. Vernon also leaves behind his grandchildren, Chris (Maghan) Austin, Jonathan (Savannah) Austin, Cheyenne Coleman, Elisha Coleman, Owen Reason, Ella Coleman and five great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be David Schmidt, Chris Austin, Jonathan Austin, Elisha Coleman, Owen Reason, and Dawayne Powell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Kirkland and Peter Brien.
