Vernon Mobley, age 86, of Tenn. Ridge, went home to be with Jesus, Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Tri-Star Centennial Hospital. A celebration of his life will be Saturday, November 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Nave Funeral Home in Erin with Sisters Beverly Dycus and Denise Settle officiating. Burial will follow at McIntosh Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Vernon was born March 27, 1927 to R.C. and Myrtle Mobley. He was a rural carrier for the U.S. Postal Service from which he retired in 1989 after 40 years of service. He was, also, co-owner of Mobley Brothers Grocery Store until the mid-1970s. He was a faithful member of Tenn. Ridge United Methodist Church and a member of Wisdom Lodge #300 Free and Accepted Masons. He served during World War II with the United States Army. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Vernon Richard Mobley and brother, Thomas Ray Mobley. He leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years, Fay Huff Mobley; 2 daughters, Kathy Mobley of Clarksville and Rhonda Mobley Nolen (Buck) of Tenn. Ridge; 2 granddaughters, Crystal Nolen Vernon (Jeff) and Kaitlin Mobley both of Clarksville; a grandson, Brandon Nolen of Murfreesboro; 2 great-grandchildren, Jackson and Amelia Vernon; a twin brother, Virgil Mobley (Bettye) of Battle Creek, MI; a sister, Margie Sue Flynt and sister-in-law, Marie Mobley both of Tenn. Ridge. Pallbearers will be Beverly (Buck) Nolen, Brandon, Brian Flynt, Robert Mobley, Jerry Richardson, and Mike Richardson.
