Vernon Cooksey

Vernon Wayne Cooksey, age 66 of Clarksville passed away July 7, 2020, at Ahava Healthcare.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 18, 2020, at the chapel of Nave Funeral Home.
The Cooksey family will receive friends Saturday, from 12 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Vernon entered this life on May 17, 1954, in Houston County, TN to the late Earl Cooksey and Lucille Ussery. He was a Veteran of The United States Army, a member of American Legion Post 226, a Mason, and retired from The U.S Postal Service. After the passing of his parents, he was raised by his aunt and uncle; Francis and J.D. McClay who precede him in death. He is also preceded in death by his siblings, Harold Ray, Janice, and Judy.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 41 years, Hattie Dunlap Cooksey; children, Jamie (Michelle) Hall, Shfonya (Travis) Cooksey, Verneil Cooksey, Kresheena Cooksey; brother, Eddie (Willie) Ramey; grandchildren, Darius, Jah’Veion, Alyssa, Zavariah, N’Vee, Pryde, and Laya. He also leaves behind many special nieces and nephews.
