Verble Mae Black, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 while at Clarksville Nursing & Rehab. She was 91.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, December 1, 2017 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. David Mackens officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Black Cemetery.
Verble's family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.
Verble entered into this life on September 10, 1926 in Dickson County, Tennessee to the late Jesse Wells, Sr. and Alice Ferrell Wells. She was retired from Acme Boot Company and was a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church.
Verble was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wylie Jake Black. Survivors include her daughters, Janie Black Hodges and Gayle Black Birdwell; brother, Bud Wells (Cathleen); grandchildren, Amy Beth Hodges Zimmerman (Charles), Michael D. Hodges (Jacque), and Chance H. Hodges (Sarah Glenn); great grandchildren, Ashley, Cody, Cole, Clayton, Graycie, Elizabeth, Jacob, and Mary Kate; and her great-great granddaughter, McKinley.
Pallbearers are Mike Hodges, Chance Hodges, Charles Zimmerman, Cole Zimmerman, Cody Hodges, Danny Wells, and Wayne Black.
