Vera Dene Lovelady

Vera Dene Lovelady, age 73 of Erin, TN, passed away Monday, June 3, 2024 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

   There will be a celebration of Life Service on Saturday June 8, at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Bro. Leon Stanford officiating. Interment will follow at McMillian Cemetery in Erin. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until the hour of service. 

   Vera was born to the late Fredrick Foster and Elsie Keeton Foster on July 23, 1950 in Onieda, TN. She later married James Lovelady. She worked at the boot plant many years before owning a small business with her husband for 20 years.

  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her dear husband; James Lovelady, her brothers; Jack Foster, Phillip Foster, Fred Foster, Leslie Foster, and Doug Foster. 

 She leaves behind her dear children; Mark Edward Carpenter, Teresa Lynn Cook (Stan), and Crystal Dawn Dew (Dwayne). Vera also leaves behind her dear sisters; Lee Lewis, Ann Cichewicz, Debbie Holmes, and Nelda Wallace.  She also leaves behind her loving grandchildren; Christopher Carpenter, Kyle Cook, Savannah Livingston, Cassie Dew Futrell, Kayla James and Chance Dew. Vera was also blessed by and very proud to show off her seven great-grandchildren. 

 Vera was a kind, loving, hard working woman. She worked hard all her life but always put her family first. She never wanted people to go without. She truly had a big, giving heart and she never expected anything in return.

 Serving as Pallbearers will be Chance Dew, Bishop Futrell, Kyle Cook, Chris Carpenter, Mike Carter, and James Cook.
