Vera Britt

Vera Mae Britt, 71, Cumberland Furnace, died Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at Gateway Medical Center under hospice care. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. Ben Falls officiating. Burial will be in Marion United Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday at the funeral home. She was born December 6, 1938 in Dickson County and was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Percy and Ada Hill Trotter; husband, Cleamon Ray Britt; and brothers, Fred Trotter, Robert Trotter, Lester Trotter, Neal Trotter; and sister, Betty Rye. Mrs. Britt was a member of Marion United Methodist Church and retired from Acme Boot. Survivors include her daughter, Annette (Bobby) Wall, Cumberland Furnace; sisters, Sarah Green, Clarksville, Juanita Smotherman, New Mexico, Peggy Stone and Sue Wallace, both of Clarksville; grandchildren, Tiffany Wall and Teale (Dustin) Cook. Pallbearers will be Wayne Green, Robert Green, Kenneth Green, Keith Rye, Curtis Stone, Gary Smotherman, Mitchell Rye and Michael Rye.
