Velton “Chic” Rye, age 95 of Erin, TN, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016 at his residence.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Bro. Paul Moody and Bro Byron Dumas officiating. Military honors will be rendered at the cemetery.
Chic entered this life on December 17, 1920 in Houston County, TN, son to the late V.A. and Geneva Adams Rye. Chic was a lifelong resident of Erin, TN, was a member of Erin Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and was a retired farmer.
In addition to his parents, Chic was preceded in death by his late wife, Katherine Anne Rye.
Survivors include his son, Cass Rye; daughter, Cynthia Rye; three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Cass Rye II, Seth Rye, Matthew Hollister Rye, Eddie Rye, Cary Rye, and Victor Dillard.
