Velmer Shelton

Velmer Ann Shelton, age 85, of Cumberland Furnace, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2016.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 29, 2016 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. James Green officiating. Burial will follow in the Fletcher Cemetery.
The Shelton family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. until the hour of service Monday at the funeral home.
Velmer entered into this life on April 11, 1931 in Montgomery County to Earl Walker Black and Lennie Paulean Barbee Black. She was a loving wife to the late Grady Thomas Shelton and a devoted homemaker. Velmer was a Baptist.
In addition to her husband she goes to be reunited with her daughters Carolyn Sue Akin and Debra Shelton. Velmer is survived by her daughter, Sandra Olsen; siblings, Billy Black, Pat Black, and Patricia Widener; grandchildren, Jennifer, Kendra, and Devin; and great grandchildren, Kerra, Isabella, Ashelynn, and Rylee.
