The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
A second service will be held in Manhattan, IL. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
Louise entered this life on November 19, 1939 in Cookeville, TN to the late Ernest Hensley and Roxie Flatt Hensley. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years, Eddie Hibbs (2002). She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Judy Hensley, Sue Seeman, and brother, James Hensley.
Louise is survived by three children, Cindy (Clifton) Schnarr, Susan (Kerry) Welch, and Brian (Robin) Hibbs; grandchildren, Ashley, Kara, and Jacob Welch, and Sam Wilson; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles Hensley, Jimmy Hensley, Bob Hensley; sisters, Thelma Loftis, Beulah Davis, and Joyce Law. She also leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was a member of North Second Church of Christ, and former member of Joliet Church of Christ. Louise was a cancer survivor. She also loved a good game of cards. She was very competitive. She never missed an episode of Jeopardy. She would record it just in case she had visitors during the show. In her family’s younger days, she enjoyed sewing clothes for her children. She even sewed Barbie clothes for their dolls-which she hated, because they were so small. During the Cabbage Patch craze of the 80’s, she made and sold enough doll clothes to pay for a trip to Hawaii to be at the birth of her first grandchild. She loved any chance to go to a party, especially if it meant making a Halloween costume for her and her husband. She had a special sense of humor and would say something funny that would catch you off guard. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and loyal friend to all.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to your favorite charity in her name is appreciated.
