(USN, Ret.) Robert Evans, Jr., 85, Indian Mound, died Friday, November 12, 2010, at Gateway Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel. The remains are to be cremated. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Robert was born June 1, 1925 in Morgantown, Kentucky, son of Robert Lee Evans and Bonnie Elizabeth Wingfield Evans. He was proud of his service to his country, having served and retired from the U.S. Navy. Following his retirement from the Navy he also worked and retired from Civil Service from Mare Island Naval Shipyard with a total of 44 years of federal service. He attended Indian Mound United Methodist Church and was a member of the F.R.A.. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be sorely missed by his wife Sara Jobe Evans of Indian Mound, sons Richard Paul (Jo Margaret) Evans of Vallejo, CA and Jim Evans of Indian Mound, daughters Christina (Ignacio) Carmona of Cleveland, OH and Angel Evans of Kentucky, sister Charlene (W.L.)
