Tommie Sykes

Tommie Landon Sykes passed away Friday September 12, 2013 at V.A. Hospital in Nashville. He was born October 29, 1948 in Houston County, Tn. son of James (J.L.) Sykes and Frances Hutchins. A celebration of his life will be 2pm Monday at Nave Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Larry McCauley and Bro. Todd Seay officiating. Visitation will be from 3pm until 8pm Sunday and from 8am until service time Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at McDonald Cemetery. Tommie was a member of D.A.V. after serving in the army in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his father James Sykes and Brother Frankie Sykes. Survivors include his mother Frances Blair of Tn.Ridge, Tn. three brothers Freddie Sykes, Dickie Sykes both of Tn. Ridge, Tn.Eddie Sykes of Anderson, SC.three sisters Donna Seay of Tn. Ridge, Tn. Nancy Parker of Erin, TN. and Nina McGinnis of Clarksville, Tn.Pallbearers will be Cary Rye, Lewis Summers, Mike Ross, Jeff Sykes, Shane Sykes, Noah Vanzant, Zeke Vanzant, and Kevin Parker.Donations can be made to D.A.V.
