Tom McWhorter
November 1, 1931 — June 9, 2019
“Tom” I.W. McWhorter age 87, of Cunningham, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Tennova Healthcare.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Gum Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Stephen Ramsey officiating. Tom's family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the hour of service at the Gum Springs Church.
Tom entered into this life on November 1, 1931 in Montgomery County, TN to the late Jake and Rebecca Bryant McWhorter. He was a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church and had retired from Kroger after many years of service.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Thelma Underwood McWhorter; brothers, Donnie and Clyde McWhorter, and sister, Louise Parker.
Survivors include his loving wife, Patsy Collins McWhorter; stepson, Dale Knight; stepdaughter, Kay (Joe) Lemons; step-grandchildren, Amy Greene and Chris Knight; sisters, Jean Thomas, Penny Russell and Carolyn Ellis, and multiple nieces and nephews.
