Thomas Dale “Red” Wallis, age 64, departed this earthly life on Sunday, December 31, 2017 surrounded by family and friends.
He will be forever remembered for his compassionate heart, contagious laugh, witty voicemails, rhymes, nicknames, uncanny ability to remember telephone numbers, and love of animals, travel, and weight lifting. Thomas was born to Virginia Louise Wallis and William King Wallis on March 23, 1953 in Clarksville, Tennessee. After graduation, he enlisted and proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps. “Red” married his bride, Debra, in 1984 and they welcomed their daughter Whitney in 1987. Thomas worked as an electrician for IBEW until his retirement in 2015.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Whitney Wallis (Sergio); siblings Judy Murphy (Barry), Carolyn Golden (Bob), Gary Wallis, Dave Wallis; nieces, nephews, and countless friends. He was welcomed into life eternal by his parents, Virginia and William, as well as brothers, Bill, Bobby, and John.
Family and friends will honor his life on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 4 p.m. at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. Condolences may be made online at NaveFuneralHomes.com.
