Thomas Eldon "Jack" Herndon, 86, Cunningham, died Friday, May 27, 2011 at his residence. A celebration of his life will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Martha' Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Wesley officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 - 7:30 p.m., Monday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel and from 12 noon until the hour of service Tuesday at the Church. A Masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m., Monday at McReynolds- Nave & Larson Chapel. Mr. Herndon was born February 14, 1925 in Montgomery County and was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Major and Ina Smith Herndon; and his wife, Nancy Fowler Herndon. He was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran, retired Civil Service- Ft. Campbell, a member of Martha' Chapel United Methodist Church and McAllister Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his sons, Thomas S. (Diane) Herndon, Odenton, MD, Robert (Lee Ann) Herndon, Palmyra; sister, Mabel Smith, Dotsonville; grandsons, Micah (Stephanie) Herndon, Daniel W. (Kim) Herndon; step-granddaughters, Christine Lang and Brittany Lang; greatgrandchildren, Paul and Abbylyn Herndon, and Tristen and Hunter Ellis. Pallbearers will be Daniel Herndon, Micah Herndon, Harold Etling, Jamin Etling, Phillip Buckner and Arlon Herndon.
