Theodis (Ted) Newsome, 61, Clarksville, died Monday, August 30, 2010, at Gateway Medical Center. A celebration of life service will be held at 12 noon Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Kenwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Eads officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with full military honors. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 7 at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday, September 8 at the church. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Ted was born April 18, 1949 in Marvell, Arkansas, son of the late Theo and Ida Belle Johnson Newsome. He dutifully served his country in the Desert Storm campaign as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army, his tenure of service included Ft. Lewis, WA, Camp Carroll, Korea, Camp Humphries, Korea, Ft. Bragg, NC, Nuremberg, Germany, Sacramento, CA, Fuerth, Germany, Desert Shield and Desert Storm, Saudi Arabia. He most recently was employed by the Montgomery Co. School System as a bus driver. Ted was a member of Kenwood Baptist Church where he was a Senior Adult Sunday School Teacher and was a member of TREA (The Retired Enlisted Association). Survivors include his wife, Susan Donawa Newsome of Clarksville, sons and their wives Ralph and Sheila Newsome of Clarksville, Shorn Newsome of Atlanta, Howard and Launzetta Newsome of Fresno, CA, Steven Newsome of Whiteville, TN, grandchildren Alyssa Newsome and Jonathan Newsome, and sister Willa Kirby of San Diego, CA.
