Thelma Estelle Lewis, age 95 of Erin, Tennessee, left her earthly home on February 20th, 2021, to live in Heaven with her Lord and Savior.
A celebration of her life will be hosted in the chapel of Nave Funeral Home on Thursday, February 25th, 2021, at 11:00am. Thelma’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 24th, 2021, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, and again from 9:00am until the hour of service on Thursday. The service will be officiated by the Reverend Richard Neal, and the interment service will follow at McDonald Cemetery. Loved ones will serve as pallbearers.
Thelma entered into this life on May 15th, 1925, in Houston County, the daughter of the late Carter and Bessie Tanner.
She leaves behind to cherish her precious and loving memory daughters Marty Lewis of Riverview, Michigan, and Darline Flatt of Erin, Tennessee; grandchildren Tania (Steve), Brenda (Bob), Steve (Jill), Ronnie (Linda), Reanna (Eric), Jody (the late Rodney), Justin (Tiffany), Sherry, Rhonda, and Tracy; 21 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren; siblings Leola Mathis (the late Glenn), Shirley Hooper (Charles), Artie Tanner, and Virgil Tanner; then in her later years, Thelma was blessed with 2 bonus daughters, Betsy and Brenda Sorrells.
In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Tommy Lewis; son Ronnie Lewis; granddaughter Shelly Look; sisters Ruby Self, Lilly Mai Self, Gwen Self, Faye Tomlinson, and Virgie Marie Tanner; brothers Ewing Tanner and Willie Ray Tanner; and very special friend, W.T. Sorrells.
Thelma was a longtime member of the Church of God of Prophecy. She will always be remembered as a loving mother and homemaker, as well as a major prayer warrior. She will be dearly missed.
