Tammy Tanksley Denton, age 52, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at her home in Palmyra.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. David Mackens officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, where Dr. Ted Denny will officiate graveside.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Tammy entered into this life on April 23, 1961 in Davidson Co., Tennessee, daughter to William Corman Tanksley and Mary Ella Chrisman Tanksley. She was adored by her family who knew her as a loving mother, wife, and grandmother. Tammy was employed with the Clarksville Police Dept. where she was a member of the Maintenance Dept. and was previously employed for 15 years with the Golden Jukebox. Tammy was a member of the church family at Bethel Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Keith Denton of Palmyra; children, Hugh Franklin Dyce III (Alexis) of Southside, Michael Aaron Denton of Palmyra, Rhonda Gonzalez (Carlos) of Clarksville, Robin Simpkins of Palmyra, and Sandra Smith (Jason) of Palmyra; and grandchildren, Janie Smith, Javier Montemayor, Paige Simpkins, Blake Simpkins, Patrick Smith, Caitlyn Montemayor-Gonzalez, Alex Smith, Corman Dyce, and Kelsey Dyce. She was preceded in death by grandchildren Nicholas Rangel and Malia Dyce.
Pallbearers will be Landon Childress, Mark Hampton, Rudy Robinson, Eddie Tanksley, Jason Chaulk, Lance Rose, and John Six.
