Sumi Usukura Smith, 84, Clarksville, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Dr. Larry Robertson officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday and from 1 p.m. until the hour of service Thursday at the funeral home. She was born March 21, 1925 in Tokyo, Japan and was preceded in death by her parents, Sangoro and Toku Usukura; husband, Clarence Smith; and her son, Clarence Ellsworth Smith Jr. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member or Woodlawn Nazarene Church. She married SSGT Clarence Smith on August 16, 1951 in Fukuoka Japan and received her U.S. Citizenship on November 18, 1955. Survivors include her caregivers, Sheila and Glen Montgomery, Clarksville; half-sister, Miyoko MaeKawa, Japan; and her niece, Shinobu Usukura. Heavens Gates have opened wide for a Blessed Angel to enter inside.
