Sue McElroy

Sue Carol McElroy, age 90, of Clarksville, TN passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.

Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m., Monday, August 21, 2023, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Oak Grove, KY with Father Julian Ibemere and Father David Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 20, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m. at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home in Clarksville, TN and again on Monday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.

Sue entered this life on October 16, 1932, in Greenville, Kentucky to the late Willie and Pearl Skipworth. She retired from Department of Defense, had voluntarily worked in dispatch for Veterans Transportation, and wrote for the 187th Infantry Division quarterly paper (The Shimbun). Sue  was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church and the Ladies Auxiliary Reserve RAKKASANS. She and her husband, Mac enjoyed spending their years traveling the world together.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by several siblings, and her grandson, Travis McElroy.

Survivors include her loving husband of 71 years, Lionel “Mac” McElroy; sons, Scott (Debbie) McElroy, Mark (Sonya) McElroy, and Michael McElroy; grandchildren, Eric (Meghan) McElroy, Zachary McElroy, Amy McElroy, Hunter McElroy, Christa Williams, and Bradley (Michelle) Williams; great-grandchildren, Isaac McElroy, Harrison McElroy, and Ripp Williams. Sue also leaves behind her special companion, Charlie the cat.

Pallbearers will be Eric McElroy, Hunter McElroy, Larry Cottrell, Dick Dutton, Wayne  Rose, and Mike Ransom.

Honorary pallbearers will be Zachary McElroy and Wallace Harris.
