Mattie Sue Devers, 78, Southside, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Tennova Healthcare.
A celebration of her life will be held 1 p.m., Sunday, January 22, 2017 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. Ken Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in Rye's Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service on Sunday at the funeral home.
She was born April 24, 1938 in Montgomery County, TN and preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Louise Herrell Devers and siblings, Frank Devers, Raymond Devers, Alan Devers, Lonnie Devers, Mack Devers, Bessie Bitter, and Gladys Epps.
Ms. Devers was formerly employed by Acme Boot Company and a member of Alva Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Larry Hodges; daughter, Suzanne Hodges-Trainer; brother, Winston Devers, sisters, Francis Nicks, Alene Akin Proctor; grandson, Brandon (Heather) Trainer; great-granddaughters, Nevaeh and Mariah Trainer.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Trainer, Todd Devers, Kenny Epps, Raymond Biter, Lonnie Ray Devers Jr. and Joel Sutton.
