Roy Stephen "Steve" Yarbrough, age 68, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, January 7, 2018.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Jeter officiating. He will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery. Steve's family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and 12 noon until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Steve entered into this life on September 25, 1949 in Clarksville to the late Roy Junior Yarbrough and Lois Marie Walker Yarbrough. As a young man Steve enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and bravely served his country in Vietnam. He was a longtime employee of the Montgomery County Highway Department and a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church. Steve was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and rider.
He married the love of his life, Carolyn Gulledge Yarbrough in November of 1980. Carolyn survives Steve along with his children by marriage, Kim Brown (Doug) and Lisa Phillips (Dale); sister, Marilyn Loeb (Danny); half brothers, Bobby Keatts (Teresa) and David Eads; grandchildren, Heather Daniels, Dustin Devine, and Kaylee Brown; and six great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Rusty Hogue, Ron Cooper, Jerry Edwards, Terry Brown, Mike Maxey, and Phyllis Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Keatts, Gary Yarbrough, Gavin Bearden, Tommy Wyatt, Jack Atkins, and Jeff Radford.
