William Stanley Harris, Sr., 75, Southside, passed away Monday, August 15, 2011 at Gateway Medical Center. A celebration of life service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Southside United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tim Ferrell officiating. Burial will take place at Southside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Thursday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home.
Stanley was born February 7, 1936 in Southside, son of Herbert Stanley and Gertie Elizabeth Wall Harris. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, William Joseph Harris. He was a retired Police Lieutenant for the Clarksville Police Department.
Survivors include his wife Betty Watts Harris of Southside, sons William Stanley Harris, Jr. of Cunningham, Randy Harris of Lincoln Park, MI, Terry Harris of Southside, Michael Harris of Atlanta, GA, Robert Stanley Harris of Clarksville, daughters Rayna Edging of Clarksville, Elaine Rager (Jason) of Clarksville, Kitty Gee and Brandi Rinker, both of Nashville, Donna Derr of Gallatin, and Debbie Daugherty of NY, brother George Harris of Lincoln Park, MI, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Family members will serve as pallbearers. Members of the Clarksville Police Dept. will serve as honorary pallbearers.
