SSG (Ret) William Robertson

SSG (Ret) William Marion Robertson, age 89 of Clarksville passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022.
Funeral Mass will be held 12 noon Monday, January 24, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial with full U.S. Military Honors will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
William entered this life on May 3, 1932, in Tad, West Virginia to the late Garcia Robertson and Georgia Bowles Robertson. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a retired Veteran of The United States Army, having served in both the Korean War and the Vietnam War. During his honorable years of service, William was awarded the Good Conduct Medal (3d award), Two Overseas Bars, The Bronze Star Medal (w/V Device), Army Commendation Medal (w/V device), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal (W/60 Device), Vietnam Service Medal (w/2 Campaign Stars, and the Combat Infantryman’s Badge. After his retirement in 1969, William was a self-employed businessman. He owned and operated three different service stations: Belaire 66, Tel-Star Texaco, and State Line Texaco. He also owned Robertson & Sons Backhoe Service, Clarksville Paveway Asphalt Co., and he worked alongside his sons at Robertson's Custom Cabinets. William eventually retired in 2007. His life was dedicated to his wife of 66 years, their sons, and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his infant son, Kevin Joseph Robertson, and brothers, Melvin, Arnold, and Paul Robertson
Survivors include his wife, Rita Shannon Robertson; sons, William (Virginia) Robertson, Jr., and Carl (Nancy) Robertson; grandchildren, Brian (Jacqueline) Robertson, Chad (Rebecca) Robertson, Joshua Robertson, and Jacob Robertson; step-great-grandchildren, Leslie, Tyler, and James; step-great-great-grandchild, Mila; cousin, Ruby Skiles, and niece, Barbara Rauscher.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
