SSG (Ret) Garry Hawley

SSG Garry Allen Hawley, USA, Retired, of Clarksville unexpectedly passed on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Tennova Health Care. He was 56 years old.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 noon, Friday, March 18, 2016 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with the Rev. Louie Montoya officiating. Full Military Honors will be rendered. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2016 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home.
Garry was born September, 27, 1959, in Cedar Rapids, IA, to the late Philip and Margaret (Peggy) Hawley. He married Connie Mueller on October 3, 1980 in Friedberg, Germany.
Garry graduated from Pine City High School and entered the U.S. Army in 1978. He served until his retirement in 1998. His military awards include the Army Achievement Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal (6), The National Defense Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, and the Driver Mechanic Badge.
Garry was an avid fisherman, loved to tinker, and enjoyed doing anything outside. He was most happy being surrounded by his family, especially his two granddaughters. He lived a rich and full life being loved by many and loving unconditionally in return.
Garry is survived by his wife Connie, his daughter, Venessa Daniel and son-in-law, Immanuel, of Silver Spring, MD; his son and best friend, Dominic Hawley and daughter-in-law, Brandi, of Pensacola, FL; two grandchildren, Alice and Shiloh; siblings Philip (Rita) Hawley of Temple, GA, Joyce Harer of Harrison, AR, Don (JoAnne) Hawley of Rush City, MN, Linda Nestrud of Mora, MN, Rob (Krystal) Hawley of Danbury, WI, and Mary (Bob) Skarhus of Forest Lake, MN. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives also survive.
In addition to his parents, Garry was preceded in death by a sister, Charlene Youngquist; brother in law, Roger Nestrud; and a niece, Heather Hawley.
Memorial contributions may be made to any children's hospital of choice.
