SSG (Ret) Jerry Len Shelley, Sr. age 79 of Clarksville passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021.
Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2021 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home.
He will be laid to rest with US Army Honors at Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery West.
Jerry entered this life on April 28, 1941 in Rockwood, TN to the late Wallace Shelley and Hieda Carter. He was a Retired U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran with over 20 years of honorable service. During those 20 years, Jerry was an Airborne Ranger and a recipient of The Purple Heart. He was a member of the VFW in Smyrna, TN and owned several businesses throughout the years. Some of which included a wrecker service, a cab and medical transport company, and the very first used tire business in Oak Grove. Jerry was a faithful supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and the Shriner’s Hospitals.
Survivors include his loving wife, Kathy Shelley; children, Jerry Len Shelley, Jr. Jeri Ella (Steven) Williams, Theresa (Jim) Curry, Debra Shelley, Tamara Shelley; step-children, Beth (Ron) Rodgers, Connie (Dave) White, Donna (Dwayne) Keehn, Sheila (Ralph) Samuel, Donald (Pamela) Bell, Amanda Kaye McKay, Charles Dwayne Suttle, and Michael Ray (Deanna Dukes) Suttle; brother, Richard Shelley; half-brother, James (Pandy) Shelley; aunts and uncles, Juanita, Sandra, and Charles Carter; 33 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
