SSG Scott J. Metcalf, 36, Clarksville, died Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at in Balad, Iraq. The funeral will be held at 12 noon Saturday, November 8, 2008 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, Hopkinsville, KY, with full military honors. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Saturday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel.

He was preceded in death by his father. SSG Metcalf, a Catholic was the recipient of (4) Army Accomodation Medals, (7) Army Achievement Medals, (6) Army Good Conduct Medals, the National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, Global War Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon #5, Air Assault Badge, Combat Action Badge, Xpert Rifle Badge, Driver/Mechanic Badge, and (4) Overseas Service Bars. Other than his mother of Northbridge, MA, survivors include his wife, Betty Jo Havener Metcalf, Clarksville; daughter, Korinne Nicole Metcalf; step-sons, Curtis Williams Myers, Matthew Aaron Myers; sister, SSG Tracy Metcalf, Aviano AB, Italy.
