SSG Franklin Evan Wadsworth, US Army

Franklin (Frankie, Neil, Frankie D, Frankly, Wads, Beegs, Frankie-Poo) Wadsworth, 30, passed away in a motorcycle accident in Clarksville, Tennessee, on May 26, 2012. He was born on December 6, 1981 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Karen M. and Grant A. Wadsworth. He grew up in South Salt Lake and attended Granite High School.

SSG Franklin Evan Wadsworth, U.S. Army assigned to Fort Campbell, Kentucky, attached to Battalion Support Company/Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 4th Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne). He served one combat tour in Afghanistan in support of OPERATION Enduring Freedom and two combat tours in Iraq in support of OPERATION Iraqi Freedom and OPERATION New Dawn. His previous duty stations were Fort Bragg, North Carolina and Mannheim, Germany.

He is survived by his wife Heaven and son Aveson Matthew. He is also survived by a large family including his mother, twelve brothers and sisters – Hyrum (Louise), Torrie (Stephen Norris), Teresa Reinacher, Heber (Shannon), Jason (Amy), Wendy (Meic Schmidt), Raquel Keenom, Roxanne (Deon Gledhill), Tiffany (Charlie Copsey), Tim, James, and Chris, including many nieces and nephews and “my girl,” Madison Ashby. Preceded in death by his father Grant Aveson Wadsworth and by Grant Mark Wadsworth.

Frank is also survived by his half brothers and sisters: Leslie (Mike) Hoxsie, Jeffrey Wadsworth, Janet Wilkinson, Denise (Donell) Willey, Stephanie Bell, Carol (Robert) Pope, Sue (Jeffrey) Noorda, and Joe Wadsworth.

Frank had a special place in his heart for his brothers, family and friends. He had a love for music, watching movies, traveling the world, and German chocolate cookies. He was known for his long story-telling and random humor. He had an easy-going personality and a calming presence.

Frank was a heroic soldier, husband, daddy, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was loved by everyone that knew him and will be sorely missed.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., at Liberty Chapel, Fort Campbell, KY.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 12:00 Noon, at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City, UT, where a viewing will be held Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
