Sophia Jean Meadows Clark while surrounded by her loving family left this land for a new and more rewarding body on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at her residence. She fought a courageous battle until the end.
A celebration of her life will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Burgess and Bro. Glenn Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
The Clark family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday at noon.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brent Whitaker, Kip Clark, Gary “Shorty” Meadows, Tommy Meadows, Josh Hughes and Jamie Schmid. Honorary pallbearers will be Dalynn Ray Reynolds.
Sophia Jean entered this life on April 2, 1934 in Erin, TN, daughter to the late Clyde Dale and Mary Frances Meadows. Sophia Jean married the love of her life Thomas Clark and little did she know, by marrying Thomas, she became part of a huge family. She loved them as brothers and sisters as did they, making her an aunt to so many.
In addition to her parents, Sophia Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edgar Clark; siblings, Billy (Norma) Meadows, and Jeri Meadows.
Survivors include her loving children, Penny (Jerry) Smith, James “Jimmy” Dale Clark; and her baby brother whom she adored, Marion Osborne (Joann) Meadows; and brother in law, Kenneth (Mable) Clark. Sophia Jean also leaves behind her precious grandchildren, Jessica Dale Clark, Morgan (Joey) Lingauer, Alexis Smith; great grandchildren, Dalynn Ray Reynolds, Kyilynn Alexis Bradford, June and Amelia Lingauer, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Sophia Jean worked at Trinity Hospital for over 25 years. During those years she cared for many patients and made an impact on so many families. After retirement, she continued to serve her community by serving as a caregiver for so many. She enjoyed picking blackberries, swimming in the creek with the “The Parker Kids” in the campground area, and was an amazing lady and fought very hard until the end. May God keep her and continue to bless her and spread her wonderful memories.
