Shukria Soliman Makkar, known affectionately as Sherry, was born on April 1, 1946. She touched countless lives through her vibrant spirit and her devotion to her family. Sherry passed away peacefully on October 19, 2024, in Clarksville, Tennessee.
Together with her beloved husband, Ramsis "Mike" Makkar, she owned and operated Clark's Delicatessen, a beloved fixture in the City of Cleveland, Ohio. Sherry was the heart and soul of the deli, embodying hard work and warmth, while being recognized as the face of the establishment. She was an accomplished cook who shared her love for food with friends and customers alike, creating not just meals but memories. Sherry's passion extended beyond the kitchen, as she was also a skilled seamstress. Her creative flair brought joy to those around her, reflecting her dedication to both her craft and her loved ones. Above all, Sherry cherished her family immensely, believing that the bonds of love were the foundation of a meaningful life. In Cleveland, Sherry and Mike were devout parishioners of St. Ignatius of Antioch Catholic Church.
Sherry is survived by her son, Shawn Ramsis Makkar, and her grandchildren, Mark Eric Sine (Cami) and Cassie Schwartz (Brian); and her five cherished great-grandchildren. They carry forward her legacy of love and dedication.
