Shirley entered into this life on January 31, 1937 in Cadiz, Kentucky to the late Jack and Milissie Wallace McBride. She worked alongside her late husband of 50 years, Thomas S. Stewart, in the family hearing aid business. She was also a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Clarksville where she was a decision counselor and served as a Sunday School Teacher, worked in the children's nursery and was a member of the choir. She enjoyed being a part of the worldwide sisterhood of gifted singers, The Sweet Adelines, and also loved being active in the local tennis league. Shirley and Tom enjoyed their many travels together, and she also enjoyed traveling with her church family. Especially the trip to Israel with her daughter and daughter-in-law.
She is survived by her children, Thomas Andrew (Sonja) Stewart and Elaine (Ken) Kelly. Additionally, Shirley was the proud grandmother of Michael (Ally) Kelly, Matthew (Calla) Kelly, Margaret Kelly, and Andrew Stewart and great grandmother to Clayton Matthew Kelly.
