Sherry Redfern McDonald, 65, Clarksville, died Tuesday, August 25, 2009, at Baptist Hospital, Nashville. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. Meg Flanigan officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home. She was born April 26, 1944 in Atlanta, GA and was preceded in death by her parents, Ira Cornelius and Miriam Nelson Redfern; husband, Richard Edward McDonald Jr.; and her sister, Iris Emery. Mrs. McDonald served as the secretary for Sheriff Billy R. Smith for 11 years and retired from her position as office Manager of the Montgomery County Drug Task Force. She is survived by her son, Richard E. "Rick" (Elizabeth) McDonald III, Spring Hill; daughter, Stacey (Rob) Wenzler, Clarksville; sisters, Marlena Myers, Summerville, SC, Kyra Koski, Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Morgan Elizabeth Wenzler and Richard E. McDonald IV. Pallbearers will be Billy R. Smith, Edgar F. Patterson, Jack R. Uffleman, Sammy Sanders, Earl Crockarell, Eddie Black, Jesse Reynolds and Mike Oliver.
