SGT Jonathan Pierce

SGT Jonathan Thomas Pierce, 30, of Italy, died Saturday, September 10, 2011. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, September 26, 2011 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Monday.
SGT Pierce was born October 27, 1980 in Arlington, Texas and grew up in Dayton, Ohio. He was a soldier enlisted in the U.S. Army and was most recently assigned to the 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team. Jonathan worked on rear detachment where he assisted family members and played a large role in the re-deployment of the 173rd ABCT. He was a member of the Eastern Orthodox Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Cristina Pierce and daughter, Alexis Marie Pierce, both of Italy, mother Theresa Wiley of Dayton, OH, sister Amanda Bryan of Centerville, OH, grandparents Wilma and Duncan Pierce of Beavercreek, OH, uncle Roger Wiggans, aunts Heather Wiggans, Devi Pierce, and Heather Thiessen, cousins Hanah Wiggans and Zoe Pierce, great aunts Bettalene & Herbert Labanhar and Shelley & Lonnie Phelps, mother and father-in-law Darica & Chirica Idor, and sister and brother-in-laws Diana Idor & Gianluca Arnosti and Elena Idor & Matteo Coppa.
